CSV import returns malformed records due to foreign characters

Hello,
We have a large number of emails rejected with foreign (but valid) characters, for example:
andrea.køldal
but are not sure how to fix the import of them so they are marked as valid and can be sent to?
Thanks,
Matt

  • Hi,

Thanks for reaching out. The issue you’re seeing with emails being rejected due to foreign characters usually happens when the CSV file isn’t encoded in UTF-8. To fix this, please make sure your CSV is saved with UTF-8 encoding before importing. This should allow characters like ø to be recognized correctly and prevent them from being marked as malformed.

    Best regards,
    Ben
