Move to new domain

Hi Ben,

What is the process of migrating to a new domain? Do we need to open a brand new Amazon account for the new domain?

We are migrating to https://epsilongs.com - also a different CMS than the last one.

    Hi,

    You do not need to open a brand new Amazon SES account just because you’re moving to a new domain.

    You can continue using your existing AWS / SES account. What you’ll need to do is:

    1. Verify the new domain in Amazon SES

      • Add the new domain in SES
      • Publish the required DNS records (DKIM, SPF, etc.)
      • Wait until verification is successful

    2. Update Sendy settings

      • Change your “From email” addresses to use the new domain

    If you’re also moving Sendy itself to a new domain/server, then you would:

    • Upload your Sendy files to the new domain
    • Update /includes/config.php (database credentials if needed)
    • Update the APP_PATH to reflect your new Sendy URL on the new domain

    But SES-wise, no new Amazon account is required.
